Bridging Open Work Permit

Bridging Open Work Permit

As the name suggests, this type of visa is basically a bridge between two visa applications. If an applicant is awaiting on decision for one category of visa and in the meantime existing visa is soon to expire, the visa that is applied in the interim is bridging visa. Bridging Open Work Permit allows an applicant to continue working while waiting on visa decision for the applied visa.

The Bridging Open Work Permit is only available to those who have already submitted a permanent residency application and are already in possession of a valid work permit. A successful Bridging Open Work Permit application results in an open work permit, enabling the holder to work for multiple employers in multiple locations, of their choosing.
